New seminar programs

To kick off the new school year, we are offering a series of exciting projects for which we are still looking for school classes.

Our current offers:

1. #meinklima

For this project, we are looking for school classes (secondary schools, vocational schools and upper secondary schools) to produce content on the topic of the climate crisis / climate justice together with us throughout the school year. The plan is for the participants to take part in our seminars three times and become media producers themselves in order to share their visions of the future, their fears and dreams with the world.

The pilot project is funded by the Federal Agency for Civic Education.

2. A good climate for all*!

What exactly is climate justice? What other consequences can climate change have and why does it seem so unjust? And above all, what can we do about it? We will explore these questions and more in the 3-day seminar ‘Good climate for all*!’.

For this seminar, we are still looking for a school class from the 5th grade onwards (Hauptschule, Realschule, Gesamtschule and vocational schools; the concept can also be adapted for special schools) to come to our educational centre from 02-04 December (further dates for 2025 can be requested).

The seminar is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

3. Memorial site trip to Weimar / Buchenwald or ‘NS - What does that have to do with me?’

The confrontation with the Nazi era is often perceived by young people with a feeling of fatigue. At the same time, the threat posed by right-wing ideologies is very present in view of the AfD's election successes and the increasing extent of right-wing violence and, in particular, the racist murders in Halle in 2019 and Hanau in 2020. Dealing with the Nazi era is still relevant for many different reasons.

We are looking for 1-2 school classes from the 8th grade (Hauptschule, Realschule or vocational school) to join us in Weimar from 24-28 February 2025 to follow in the footsteps of German history. This seminar is also funded by the Federal Agency for Civic Education, which is why the participation fee is comparatively low.

But not curious? Interested in seminars on social diversity & discrimination, social media / digitalisation or does your SV simply need an update? Then take a look at our website, follow our account @polbil_basa on Instagram, send us an email or simply give us a call so that we can see together which program is right for your school.
