The aim of this Teamer-training is to re-examine fundamental questions: What do we mean by political education and what is political? What role do we play as political educators vis-á-vis the participants? How is our actions influenced by our positioning? Where are my limits when it comes to teaming and what do I trust myself? What is our attitude towards th eparticipants and the content we convey?

The training itself is designed in such way that not only contents are convoyed, but also political education with a variety of its methods is experienced and tested in practice. Thus, each method is followed and reflected by a meta-reflection, in which questions are raised, such as, for which target group the method is (not) suitable, what are chances and risks, etc. Through a wide variety of methods, we already teach basics of moderating and presenting during the seminar.

Also, we are going to introduce pedagogical concepts, like experience-based learning, subject orientation, the need for controversy and the prohibition of overpowering, and give impulses to how speakers can react to disruptions or dicriminatory statements in a seminar. Above all, however, we give the participants space and time to find their answers to these questions together and in small group works. All participants get their chance to reflect on bad but also good experiences together in order to learn from them.

On the last day it will be about collecting and sharing what you have learned and experienced and drawing conclusions for your own work. Here you can also try out your own with the new insights in the group and have the possibility to work specifically on you own performance as political educator.
