Girl-Empowerment
A more just and equal society, in which women can actively participate according to their interests and desires, is only possible if girls are considered as a socially relevant target group. Although many changes have been achieved so far, there is still a long way to go. Emancipatory work with girls should still deal with old questions and also with new topics concerning democracy, violence, diversity, deconstruction, discrimination.
The empowerment project for girls* arose from the need to create a safe space for girls* in which they have the opportunity to creatively and self-determinedly exchange with other girls*. Through our project, girls* had the opportunity to find a sisterhood space to share and empower themselves. In the project, we posed questions of intersectionality, linking diverse social spheres to address girls* in different life situations.
Furthermore, this is achieved through the use of participatory approaches, which then leads to a participatory process of seminar and workshop development with the institutions and the girls* and young women* themselves. Through our empowerment project, the girls have the opportunity to find a space of sisterhood to exchange and empower themselves. Furthermore, this is achieved through the application of participatory approaches, leading to a hands-on process of seminar and workshop development with the institution, the girls and young women themselves.
As part of this project, we are organizing this year's Girls* Empowerment Camp from October 22 to 26. This year's camp motto is It's GIRLS* Time! and was chosen by the girls* themselves. To get an idea of what it's all about, we invite you to watch this video:
